RatingStar is an application that allows you to backup and restore iTunes song ratings. 

RatingStar will help you create backups of your iTunes song ratings. It will also help you to restore backed-up ratings to iTunes. If you export your ratings to a file you can edit it outside of iTunes and even import it to another iTunes library or playlist. Options include backing up from iTunes or iTunes Library XML file. Ratings can be stored in a delimited text file or in the music files' comments tag.

New features include:

  • A new tool to set song ratings to a default value has been added.
  • The application skin has been removed due to compatibility issues.
  • Support for Windows Vista and Windows 7 RC.

Contact Port for Windows Mobile 5 Beta

Contact port is a Windows Mobile 5 application that allows you to import/export Windows Mobile contact from/to comma delimited (csv) text files.  The application also includes an export to Thunderbird format option to allow easy import to Thunderbird email client.

Since this is still abe beta version, please make backups of you contacts and any other information on your Windows Mobile device.  The application is provided as-s and the author is not responsible for any damage/loss resulting in the useof this application.  The application is freeware and as such no specific support is provided.

RatingStar was developed to help you backup and restore iTunes ratings. I decided to develop this tool to help people just like me that want to prevent the loss of their music ratings. Song ratings gives a very personal spin to your music library and everybody knows how much more easily it makes life when you want to create smart lists and favourite play lists. I know many people (including myself) that have invested lots of time in diligently rating each song in their music library. And I also know the pain/frustration/anger/disappointment when you lose all your ratings due to unforeseen circumstances like a hard disk crash, reformatting your PC, migrating to another PC etc. I decided to create RatingStar to help me backup and restore my music ratings. As with all backup utilities, you should make regular backups and preferably store the backup in multiple locations. I store my backups on an external drive (a flash drive will also work) and I email myself a copy to my online web mail account (a gMail account). The application if freeware and as such does not come with any warranties or support.
